It is good to be home. I like going ‘bush’ usually but it wasn’t much fun last week. I didn’t get any ‘real’ walks. It was so hot Mummy just wanted to stay inside in the air-conditioning. I told her she wouldn’t need the air conditioner if she would just lie on the lino under the bed like me. What she said back to me was not polite!—it was something like, “*&#@@*^!” But I didn’t insist that she needed to get out and walk because I really didn’t want to take her. There were so many bindies and burrs and other things that stick into my feet. I am not polite when I walk on them and say something like, “squeak, squeal, grr, ruff, ruff!”
So it was nice to go for a walk this morning on soft ground and bitumen and concrete and NO bindies or burrs or horrible prickles. I talked with a female people puppy who was taking her Nan for a walk. Then I talked to a couple of wrinklies—they smiled and said nice things to me.
We went to a shop and Mummy tried to trick me. Most places she comes out the same door that she goes in, but not at this one. There are two doors that have writing over them—ENTRY and EXIT—whatever that means. I wasn’t tricked though. I was watching the right door for her to come out and started to make the happy-to-see-you wiggles and tail wags as soon as I saw her.
I like going for walks, but I like coming back too. Mummy gives me my ‘pay’ for taking her for a walk. This morning my pay was to play a game called catch-the-sausage. I like this game because it is fun and I get to eat the pieces of sausage—YUM!
