I knew it! It felt like it was going to be a special day. And it was! Special and fun! Wow! What wonderful smells!
Did you know Mummy likes rocks? If you came to our house you would know—there are rocks in the front yard and rocks in the back yard and even rocks in the house! I don’t like rocks so much. I like ground you can dig in! You can’t dig holes in rocks!
I walked with Mummy and I walked with Daddy. I walked on the grass. I walked on the sand—I like sand ‘cause it’s really good for digging in. And I walked on rocks, and I walked on more rocks, and I walked on even more rocks. I put my fore paws in the water. It was cold. I did not walk in the water. I do not like water.
Mummy talked about rocks and showed me some special rocks. She said that some rocks were really trees, she said the coal was made out of trees. Really, does she expect me to believe that? I know trees. I know what trees smell like. The rocks smelt like rocks. If Mummy could smell she would be able to tell the difference between trees and rocks.
I walked and walked and walked—and I sniffed and sniffed and sniffed. Not close to the water, but up near where the rocks went straight up—that’s where the smelling was so exciting. It was so much fun to go on a sniffing explore.
Some lucky dogs who live in Swansea get to go exploring there almost every day. Some like jumping in the water—or so Mummy says—but there were no swimmers when I was there. It makes me embarrassed just to think about it. It is so very undignified to splash about in the wet stuff. How horrible to think that cats have more sense than some of my own species!
I hope we go back soon!
