When I say ‘WOMBAT’ of course, I mean I am uniquely ‘Lady Wombat’--NOT a common wombat [or a hairy-nosed one] … It took Daisy, a COMMON wombat, to show me things from another perspective.
Don’t worry though. Lady Wombat has all the stubborness…—oops! I meant to say persistence and determination of a REAL wombat. She’ll be right soon, but first she needs to get un-bogged and just DRY UP.
Wombats are strong—but not invincible. Me too. I am strong but I am vulnerable.
A wombat is intelligent and persistent—a wombat does not give up. I am intelligent and persistent—but sometimes I do give up. Because, unlike a wombat, I can adjust my thinking.
So if I hit a metaphorical brick wall—I think. Do I need or want to get past the wall? Is it possible/or advisable to do it? What different approach could I take?
I used to think and believe: ‘If at first you don’t succeed—try, try again.’
Now I’ve modified the saying to: ‘If at first you don’t succeed—try again.
If you still don’t achieve—try something else.’
I used to think and believe: ‘If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing well.’ Now my self-talk is: ‘If something’s worth doing—just do it.’
I love wombats but I am content to be [uniquely] me.
