As you can see from the picture, Lady Wombat is not a REAL wombat.
She says I’m not a LADY. So what? Why on earth would a wombat want to be a lady?

I’m writing the blog this week because my friend, Lady Wombat, isn’t up to it. And as for that WIMPY pet of hers who is terrified of thunderstorms… [hey! Maybe that’s why they are called terriers—terrified terriers sounds right to me]…
She told you that wombats are never muddle-headed. That is true for REAL wombats. But Lady Wombat is not a REAL wombat. FACT!
Real wombats are not wimps either. We are not scared of thunder. But we do HATE heavy rain for the same reason as our monotreme mates, the platypus. Heavy rain floods burrows, and if we can’t get out of our burrows we can’t breathe. And if we can’t breathe, well… the consequences are LETHAL. This, too, is FACT!

There has been a super-abundance [that means, lots and lots and even more than LOTS] of heavy RAIN, and LIGHTNING and THUNDER. I can’t explain how, but somehow the weather seems to have got INSIDE the BRAINS of both Lady Wombat and Chewy.
A tiny bit of the lightning got inside Chewy and made him have a seizure! He has recovered all right, but he’s using that as an excuse for not doing the blog…
As for Lady Wombat—well! Lots of rain got inside her brain and made it really soggy and boggy and muddy too—she is a very muddy muddle-headed Lady Wombat at the moment. She has got so bogged in her soggy boggy brain that if she tried to write a blog now—well I reckon it would be a sad and sorry soggy boggy bloggy!
Don’t worry though. Lady Wombat has all the stubborness…--oops! I meant to say persistence and determination of a REAL wombat. She’ll be right soon, but first she needs to get un-bogged and just...
... DRY UP !!
